Funeral service for Mildred "Millie" A. Fink, 89, Aberdeen, will be 1:30pm Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1429 Dakota Street North, with Pastor Chris Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday, January 31, 2011 at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW, and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday, at the church.
Mildred passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Bethesda Home Of Aberdeen, SD.
Mildred A. Weber was born May 22, 1921 to Edward and Ellen (Hanks) Weber in Waterville, MN. She attended school in Waterville. After Millie's busy farm life slowed down, she had the opportunity to acquire her GED.
Mildred and William Fink were united in marriage November 29, 1941 in Waterville, MN. They made their home on the family farm in the Eureka area until moving into Aberdeen in 1968. Millie was employed at Avera St. Luke's Hospital and later with Bethesda Home Of Aberdeen. Being essentially homebound, Millie shared her talents by sewing quilt tops for the mission work thru Good Shepherd Quilters. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading and being a seamstress along with having a green thumb for her indoor plants.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William in 1990, and one brother, Anthony Weber.
Grateful to have shared in Millie's life are her children, Raymond (Judy) Fink of Mission, TX, Duane (Karen) Fink of Leola, SD, and Janet (Lorren) Weber of Mina, SD. Millie has seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren along with seven nieces and nephews.
