Memorial service for Edna Doerr, 85, of Aberdeen, will be 10:30am Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen. Pastor Chris Anderson of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be officiating. Edna's wishes were to be cremated and burial of her cremated remains will be at Riverside Cemetery. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center. Friends may sign her online guest book at the bottom of the page.
Edna passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.
Edna Wetzel was born October 23, 1925 to Jacob and Mathilda (Berreither) Wetzel at Lehr, ND. She was raised and attended school in the Zeeland, ND area.
Edna married Alvin Doerr December 20, 1947 at St. Paul, MN. They later moved to Aberdeen and have resided here since that time. She worked at the Virginia Café for several years.
Edna enjoyed playing cards, doing embroidery and going to rummage sales.
Surviving Edna are her eighteen children, Terry (Lori) Doerr, Willie (Gail) Doerr, Larry Doerr, Anna (Dean) Perry, Jeannie (Pat) Sanders, Betty (Wayne) Borge, Danny Doerr, Duane Doerr, Angie (Doug) Hedges, Cindy Doerr, Carol Doerr, Jimmy (Char) Doerr, Shirley (Tom) Rowan, Alvin Doerr, Robert Doerr, David (Beth) Doerr, Karen Doerr and Sharon Doerr, one brother Richard Wetzel of Zeeland, ND, twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in January of 2010, two infant sons and nine siblings.
