Mass of Christian Burial for Mary T. Christianson, 90, of Bismarck, ND formerly Frederick area will be 10:30am Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Westport. Father Edward Pierce will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Aberdeen. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Liturgical Wake service will be 5:00pm Friday, April 29, 2011at the mortuary. Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church in Westport. Friends may sign her online guest at the bottom of the page.
Mary passed away April 23,2011 at St. Gabriel's Nursing Home in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Mary T. Shuck was born August 12th 1920 in Elroy Wisconsin to Orville and Winifred (Lynch) Shuck. She moved to Aberdeen in her early years. On August 7,1939 Mary married William O. Christianson in Aberdeen. During WWII they lived on the West Coast and returned in 1945. They farmed in the Barnard/Frederick area for over 50 years.
Mary loved her time on the west coast and they traveled back many times to various places on the Oregon/Washington beaches. She always enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. Several grandchildren would spend a few weeks at the farm during the summer months. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting and she also collected U.S. Plates.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, of 64 years, son William Christianson Jr., granddaughter Francine Holden, one sister and 2 brothers.
Mary is survived by four daughters, Stepheni Holden of Estes Park, CO, LaVonne Hagarty of Yakima, WA, Denise Mavers of Denver, CO and Kim (Mahlon) Meidinger of Bismarck ND. Seven grandchildren, Shawn Hagarty of Gleed, WA, Paul Hagarty of Layton, UT, Michelle Holden of Kansas City, KS, Heather Bundi of Fort Collins, CO, Becky Parker of Bismarck, Justin Mavers of Pueblo, CO and Michael Mavers of Denver, CO. In addition 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
