John P. Carlson

Memorial service for John P. Carlson, 61, Watertown, formerly of Aberdeen, will be 5:00pm Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW. Father Jeff Norfork of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate the service.

John passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at his home.

John P. was born September 18, 1949 to Richard E. and Patricia H. (Hetherington) Carlson in Aberdeen, SD. He attended Aberdeen schools and graduated from Aberdeen Roncalli High in 1967, the first graduating class of Roncalli. John then attended Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown and became a machinist. He was employed in Aberdeen, SD and Denver, Co, before moving to Watertown, SD, in 1996.

John and Rebecca Gaston were united in marriage June 6, 1997 in Watertown, SD, where they continued to make their home. He enjoyed motorcycles and collecting Hot Wheels.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Patricia.

Grateful to share in John's life are his wife, Rebecca of Watertown, SD, his step sons, Chris (Peggy) Gaston of Laura, OH, and Harley (Erica) White of Austin, TX, his step grandchildren, Sean Gaston and Odyn White, his half brothers, Terry (Cory) Carlson and Todd Carlson both of Aberdeen, SD.
