Margaret Fischer, 97, of Ipswich passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Ipswich. Margaret's wishes were to be cremated and requested no services.Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret Fischer was born June 7, 1914 to Jacob and Barbara (Weigel) Fischer on the family farm near Ipswich, SD where she was raised and attended country schools.
Margaret later moved to Rockford, IL where she resided and worked for many years. She returned to Ipswich in 1988 and has resided there since that time.
Margaret enjoyed Elvis Presley Music, Ball Room Dancing, baking, making candy and caring for needy children. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, needlepoint and embroidery. She donated much of her time and many of her art pieces to the Dakota Prairie Museum. In June of 2006 she was featured in the Aberdeen American News for showing over one hundred sixty pieces of framed Cross Stitch, Needlepoint and Crewel Embroidery at the Dakota Prairie Museum.
Surviving Margaret are many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Joseph, Anthony, Frank and Andrew and five sisters, Katheryn Daschle, Christina Miller, Regina Brown, Helen Fischer and Barbara Setterblade.
