Robert “Bob” Harold Fulker was born January 18, 1923, to Harold W. and Marie (Magone) Fulker in Mobridge, SD.  The family moved to a farm west of Aberdeen in 1925.  Bob attended Brookside rural school and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1942.

Bob entered active duty in the United States Air Force in 1944, serving as an Aviation Cadet.  He was honorably discharged in November of 1945.

Bob married Claire Haegele in Aberdeen on April 19, 1947.  They made their home in Aberdeen, where Bob worked for Brown County Implement before entering into partnership with his brother-in-law to purchase the Aberdeen Truck Terminal.  He later owned and operated Fulker Truck Lines until 1985, when he retired.

Bob was a lifetime member and past Commander of Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 of Aberdeen.  He served on the legion’s firing squad for many years, as well as being past Chef-de Gare of The Forty and Eight Club, Voiture #46.  Bob was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a lifetime member of Elks Lodge #1046 in Aberdeen.

Bob loved all sports and especially enjoyed playing amateur baseball in his younger days.  He enjoyed league bowling with his wife and, before his health began failing, also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Bob was a loving father and grandfather and was dearly loved by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his daughters:  Gail (Doug) Deibert of Sioux Falls, SD, Carol Fulker of Ellendale, ND and Sandra (Curt) Merkel of Aberdeen; and three grandchildren:  John (Lori) Deibert, Katie Deibert and Tammy (Nick) Welder.
