      Patricia “Pat” K. Carlson, 74, of Aberdeen, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

     Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Kevin Bergeson, of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, officiating.

     A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

    Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Aberdeen.

    Visitation at the mortuary will be from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

     Patricia “Pat” K. Carlson was born on December 4, 1941, to Gilbert and Ellen (Fawcett) Gale at her grandparents’ home in Aberdeen, SD.  

     She was united in marriage to Richard “Swede” E. Carlson in Tulare, SD, on September 12, 1962.  The couple made their home in Aberdeen and shared over 37 years of marriage before he passed away on January 7, 2000.  Pat continued to live in Aberdeen, where she was employed at Aspire for nine years before retiring in 2013.

     Pat was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.  She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter, Braya, as she was growing up.

     Pat is survived by her sons, Todd (Lisa) Carlson of Aberdeen and Terry (Cory) Carlson of Mina, SD; one granddaughter, Braya Carlson of Spearfish, SD; one sister, Dorothy Brown of Aberdeen; two brothers, Gilbert “Butch” (Gwen) Gale of Bismarck, ND and Dave (Jan) Gale of Aberdeen; two nieces, Jody (Barry) Stein of Mandan, ND and Lisa (Kyle) Oswald of Aberdeen; and four nephews:  Bill Brown, Jr. of St. Paul, MN, Jeff (Jodi) Brown of Aberdeen, Corey (Paula) Gale of Lisbon, ND and Scott Gale of Aberdeen.

     Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Swede; her stepson, John Carlson; her brother-in-law, Bill Brown, Sr.; her parents, Gilbert and Ellen; and her half-sister, Vivian Brandes.
