   Lisa Mae (Nash) Phillips Mayer, 80, of Aberdeen, SD and formerly of South Mills, NC, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center of natural causes.

     Her funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2018, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 624 North Jay Street, Aberdeen.  Pastor Samuel Bobby and Pastor Josiah Fitch will officiate.  

     Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

     Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen, is handling arrangements.  Friends may sign Lisa’s online guestbook and view her service via the live stream service link at www.schriversmemorial.com.

     Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary, with a public prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

     Lisa Mae (Nash) Mayer was born on October 2, 1937, to Lloyd and Tishie (Sawyer) Nash at Camden, NC.  She attended grade school in South Mills and high school in Camden.

     Lisa married Ernest Phillips on December 24, 1953, at Hertford, NC.  They travelled and lived in many states.  Lisa moved back to Aberdeen in 1963.

     Lisa was united in marriage to Lloyd Mayer on November 20, 1965, at St. John Lutheran Church in Warner, SD.  They made their home in Aberdeen until July 4, 1966, when they moved to Yakima, WA.  The couple also lived in Wenatchee and Auburn, WA.  In 1969, they moved to Coon Rapids, MN and then moved back to Aberdeen in April of 1972.  Lisa and Lloyd shared nearly 45 years of marriage before he passed away on November 10, 2010.

     Lisa worked at a variety of places such as:  Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE and in Aberdeen, at Walgreens, Professional Art, Control Data and other factories, Twist Cone, St. Luke’s Hospital, Northern State College, and Foster Grandparents.  There weren’t many jobs she hadn’t done.  She retired from Northern State College in August of 2000.

     Lisa was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aberdeen where she was an active member of the Visiting Circle.  She was also a Den Leader for three years and did much volunteer work.  Lisa belonged to the Women of Today and was a member of the Fair-Visitor Convention Bureau and the Wizard of Oz Make-A-Wish Foundation.

     Lisa enjoyed house and yard work, Bingo, cards, softball, rummage sales, playing with and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and having coffee with friends.  She especially enjoyed bowling on the Control Data League.

     Grateful for having shared her life are her sons:  Scott Karl Merle (Lori) Mayer and James Lloyd Mayer, both of Aberdeen; two sisters, Marie (Wes) Hansen of Bellevue, NE and Linda (Bob) Ridder of Plankinton, SD; one brother, Floyd (Betty) Sawyer of Fort Meyers, FL; one grandson, Justin Scott of Aberdeen; granddaughter, Jasa Lee of Aberdeen; step-granddaughter, Jessica (Brian) Rombs of Aberdeen; five great-grandsons:  Taylor, Tanner, Carter, Camerson, and Hayden Rombs, all of Aberdeen; one great-great grandson, Taydon Rombs of Aberdeen; two sisters-in-law, LuElla Fuhrman of Aberdeen and Marcelle Krueger of Woonsocket, SD; one brother-in-law, Allan Phillips of Savannah, TN; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

     Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; an infant daughter, Dawn Elizebeth; stepson, Calvin Mayer; one great-granddaughter; her parents, grandparents, stepfather, five brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, and her ex-husband, Ernest, in 1980.
