     LeRoy Charles Dehne, 77, of Westport, SD, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, at his home.

     Mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Westport with Father Tom Anderson officiating.

     Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

     Visitation at the church will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, with a liturgical wake service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church on Wednesday.  No visitation will take place at the mortuary.

     LeRoy Charles Dehne was born March 15, 1940, to William H. and Rose Catherine (Gutenkauf) Dehne in Seneca, SD.  At a young age, LeRoy and his family moved to Westport, SD, where he was raised and attended school.  Following graduation from Westport High School, LeRoy became employed with a number of area farmers doing custom hay moving for several years.

     LeRoy was united in marriage to Guyna (Lende) Schaunaman on October 6, 1979, in Aberdeen.  The couple made their home on Guyna’s farm near Westport, which LeRoy continued to operate until the time of his death.

     LeRoy was a life-long, active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Westport.  In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends.

     Blessed to have shared in LeRoy’s life is his wife of 37 years, Guyna Dehne of Westport; his children:  Darin (Jessica Nilson) Dehne and Dean (Kathy) Schaunaman, both of Aberdeen, Keith (Stephanie) Schaunaman of South Haven, MN, and Roger (Sally Mehlhaff) Schaunaman and Brenda (Bryan) Pence, both of Aberdeen; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Jan) Dehne of Hecla, SD and Darrell Dehne of Pierre, SD; and three sisters:  Gerry (Dialo) Schmidt of Aberdeen, Jean (Tom) Stenger of Indianapolis, IN and Celia (Tony) Vetter of Bismarck, ND.

     LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald.
