     John Paul Andree, 53, of Canton, SD, and formerly of Aberdeen, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, at his home in Canton.

     His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2017, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Kevin Bergeson, of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, presiding.

     A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

     No visitation will take place prior to the service.  

     John Paul Andree was born May 6, 1964, in Aberdeen, SD, to Saniford “Sandy”Andree and Rita (Kuntz) Andree-Thompson.  This is the area where he was raised and attended public school.

     John Paul’s work career began delivering milk with his father for Terrace Park Dairy.  He then served as the Head Cook at both the Sheraton and the Ward Hotel.  John Paul also did house painting for a short time before moving to Arizona in 1988, where he was employed as an Environmental Specialist and was involved with asbestos removal.  He then worked construction in Seattle, WA, before moving to Sioux Falls, SD, where he worked for Gage Brothers Construction until a car accident rendered him unable to work any longer.  John Paul made his home in Canton, SD, until the time of his death.

     John Paul loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was also a talented photographer and craftsman who enjoyed making things with his hands.  John Paul also had a fondness for wildlife and animals, especially his pet cats.  

     John Paul is survived by his daughter, Tessa Taylor and granddaughter, Elloh Adel Taylor, both of Madison, SD; his step-father, Tom (Gwen) Thompson of Canton, SD; his siblings: Saniford “Bud” (Jennifer) Andree of Albuquerque, NM and Shawn (Dana) Hermansen and Trent Andree, both of Aberdeen; five nieces; three nephews; and one great-niece.

     He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his parents, Saniford “Sandy” Dale Andree and Rita Gayle Andree-Thompson.
