Jacqueline Mae “Jackie” Meyer passed away April 23, 2017, surrounded by family, at the age of 76.
Her memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen, with Father Michael Griffin officiating.
A luncheon immediately follows the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.
Jackie’s wishes were to be cremated with interment taking place at Wayside Cemetery in Frederick, SD, at a later date.
Visitation at the mortuary will be 4-6 p.m., Thursday and one hour before the service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Aberdeen Humane Society in Jackie’s honor.
Jacqueline Mae Ziegler was born on April 21, 1941, in Aberdeen, S.D. to George Joseph and Mabel Elizabeth (Connor) Ziegler. This is the area where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Central High School with the Class of 1959. Following graduation, Jacqueline worked at Feinstein’s and Kirkpatrick’s Jewelry before beginning work as the secretary at Terrace Park Dairy.
Jacqueline was united in marriage to Thomas J. Meyer on August 1, 1987, in Webster, SD. The couple made their home in Frederick, SD. Jackie became a resident of ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen in March of 2017 and continued to reside there until the time of her death.
Jackie enjoyed bowling, as well as playing Bingo, croquet, and cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and pets, and will be missed dearly by all.
Grateful to have shared in Jackie’s life is her husband, Thomas John Meyer of Frederick, SD; four children: Laurie Schemionek of Prior Lake, MN, Scott Zens of Aberdeen, Teri Hamel of Brunswick, GA, and Richard Zens of Aberdeen; three step-children, Jenny Cooper of Mitchell, SD, Christopher Meyer of Volin, SD, and Shannon Larson of Billings, MT; 13 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Terry Ziegler of St. Paul, MN and her sister, Debby Schlosser of Westport, SD.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents.
