Evelyn (Weber) Rumrey was born on December 22, 1914, at New Rockford, ND, to Nicholas and Catherine (Kline) Weber.  In 1923, she and her family moved to Aberdeen where she was raised and attended school.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Edmund Davis Rumrey on April 18, 1942, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen.  The couple made Aberdeen their home where Dolly was employed at Beatrice Creamery, Kresge five and dime department store, Franklyn Dairy, and Malchow’s.  She then became the co-owner of Dolly’s Draperies with her sister, Vi Lorenzen and later worked at the Finishing Touch.  Dolly continued making drapes until she was 99 years old.  She and Edmund shared 43 years of marriage and raised five children together before he passed away on July 9, 1985.  Dolly continued to reside in Aberdeen until the time of her death.

Dolly’s faith was an important part of her life.  She was an active member of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, The Women Forresters, Band 11 of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, and knitted many prayer shawls.  She was also a member of the Town & Country Belles Extension Club and spent many hours volunteering for the RSVP program.

In her spare time, Dolly enjoyed traveling and touring on bus trips and was an avid Bridge player.

Blessed to have shared in Dolly’s life are her children:  Susan (Larry) Manning of Coon Rapids, MN, Kent (Linda) Rumrey of Aberdeen, Bruce (Laura) Rumrey of Foley, Alabama, Mark (Sue) Rumrey of Aberdeen and ReBecca Paddock of Duluth, MN; her grandchildren; Dani (Gary) Hartmann, Kristi Manning, Stuart (Angela) Manning, Chad (Amanda) Simes, Eric (Brandy) Simes, Michelle Rumrey, Tracy Rumrey, Elizabeth (Eric) Dehn, Vanessa Rumrey, Cody Rumrey, Elizabeth Schuck, Larry Schuck, David Schuck, Jay (Jacqui) Hollen, Andrew (Jennifer) Hollen and Taylor Paddock; 27 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vi Lorenzen of Aberdeen.

Dolly is preceded in death by her husband, Edmund; her parents, Nicholas and Catherine; four brothers:  Frank, Leo, Ed, and Clarence Weber; one sister, Gladys Rhodes; one granddaughter, Rachel Simes; and three great-grandchildren: Austin Simes, Shylynn Reasy and Evan Odde.
