Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Monday.

     E. William “Bill” Dosch was born January 29, 1929, in Cresbard, SD to Otto and Helen (Dosch) Alexander.  He was raised in Redfield, Rapid City, and Redfield, graduating from Redfield High School in 1947.

Bill spent the next 9 years working several jobs, serving 3 years in the Korean War (in Alaska as part of the South Dakota artic rangers), going to Northern State University, playing football as a halfback, and graduating with a business degree in 1956.  During that time he also met and married Kay Lee Schnittgrund on August 30,1954 and started a family.

Bill worked as a traveling salesman for Carpenter Paper Company in Minneapolis, Bismarck, and Sioux Falls, before returning his family to Aberdeen in 1966.  Bill became the sales manager of Western Printing in 1970, working in that position until his retirement in 1991.

Bill’s main hobby was woodworking, making shelves, candlesticks, footstools, a coffee table, and a foosball table that will be in his children’s families for generations to come.  Bill also enjoyed decades of hunting, dancing, playing cards, bowling, and going out to coffee (boy, did he love to talk to people!).  Bill and Kay left several legacies with their kids, including Sunday dinners, year round outdoor grilling, patio dinners, holiday gatherings, and elaborate inside Easter egg hunts, complete with poster board, storytelling, and clues!

Bill was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.  His family takes comfort that he now has a beautiful life up in heaven with Kay, a match made in heaven.  Blessed to have shared Bill’s life are his children:  Mike (Nancy) Dosch of Seattle, WA, Mary (Clark) Arneson of Minneapolis, MN, and Tom (Marcia) Dosch of Aberdeen; grandchildren:  Matthew Dosch (Ashlee), Brian Dosch, and Kevin Dosch, Ben (Kelly) Arneson, Ross Arneson (Matt Bertke), and Kay Arneson Olsen (Mark), Joe Dosch and Annie Dosch; great-grandchildren:  Noah and Eli (sons of Ben and Kelly) and William (son of Ross and Matt); brother-in-law, Jim (Jackie) Schnittgrund of Rapid City, SD; and husband of sister-in-law, Marv Russell of Burnet, TX.

Bill is preceded in death by his stepfather, Otto Alexander; brother, Andy Dosch; mother, Helen; and wife, Kay.
