Cecelia Imberi, 92, of Aberdeen, and formerly of Hosmer, SD passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Ipswich Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Cecelia’s wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date with burial taking place at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hosmer.

Cecelia Heilman was born September 26, 1925 to Lawrence and Regina (Heilman) Heilman in Bowdle, SD. This is the area where she was raised and attended school.
Cecelia was united in marriage to Frank M. Imberi on May 13, 1946 in Bowdle. The couple made their home in Hosmer, where in addition to being a wife and mother, Cecelia kept busy working at Heier’s Meat Market and the Hosmer Nursing Home. Cecelia and Frank raised six children and shared over 47 years of marriage before Frank passed away on May 10, 1994, just three days short of their 48th wedding anniversary. In 2007, Cecelia moved to Aberdeen, where she resided at the Sherman Apartments. While living in Aberdeen, she enjoyed working at The Learning Tree, the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and the Aberdeen Area Boys & Girls Club.
In her spare time, Cecelia enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading (especially anything about the Kennedys), and watching her favorite television shows and characters including Barney Fife and Lucy.
Blessed to have shared in Cecelia’s life are her children: Robert (Paulette) Imberi of Aberdeen, Margaret (Arnold) Wiederrich of Hosmer, Katherine (Ernest) Entzel of Aberdeen, Thomas (Nancy) Imberi of Idaho Falls, ID and Teresa Schmidt of Minneapolis, MN; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Margaret Malsam and Marcella Thomas, both of Aberdeen, Steve Heilman of Onaka, MN and Regina Jackson of Bowdle.
Cecelia is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; one daughter, Cecelia (Imberi) Rivas; one grandson, Tim Rivas; four brothers; one sister; and two sons-in-law.
